FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VGETS Launches Discord Server to Enhance Collaboration on Video Game Industry Safety Standards
New online platform will facilitate communication between companies and industry stakeholders in the global gaming industry to improve online safety, fight fraud, and deepen trust.
October 2, 2024 — VGETS (The Video Game Ethics Trust and Safety working group), a trust group focused on collaboration on active cases and emerging threats in the video game industry, proudly announces the launch of its official Discord server. This platform is intended for industry professionals to share non-proprietary information in real time.
The VGETS Discord server aims to broaden dialogue between gaming companies and industry stakeholders, streamlining discussions on critical topics such as threat intelligence, content moderation, and the protection of environments for video game company staff, moderators, and players.
The server is open to all companies and professionals involved in the video game industry, including developers, publishers, platform operators, security and social media platforms, and law enforcement agencies. The VGETS Discord aligns with the model successfully used in other communities, such as incident response, anti-phishing, and anti-spam efforts.
VGETS hopes that by providing a space for continuous, transparent communication, the community will be better equipped to address emerging safety concerns and adapt to new challenges as the industry grows.
